Many times, valuable family jewelry needs to be updated while maintaining the sentimental value of the original piece. For example, maybe you have an heirloom diamond ring that is badly worn and unsafe to hold that precious diamond. We can assist you with the selection or design of a new ring then remount the original stone into it.

All jewelry repair is performed at our store location by Chip Beltinck and Scott Woods.  Jewelers with a combined experience of 50 years on the bench.  Make an appointment for repairs.

What Services does Sawyer Offer to Me?

We specialize in custom repairs and have over 50 years experience.  In the photo to the right, Scott is taking a mens and ladies wedding rings and combining them together to form a pendant.  After the loss of a loved one it's a wonderful way to always have a piece of the with you at all times.  We made this ring for a gentleman that lost his wife.  Click here to view the process and photos.

Additional basic repairs we offer (not a complete list)

• Shank work (including soldering, ring sizing, mounting assembly and installing).
• All prong work (including re-tipping and replacing prongs).
• Stone setting (including tightening, channel set, bezel set, bead set, pave' set and bright cutting).
• Finishing (including plating, enamel/epoxy, polishing & clean ring, satin finish and florentine finish).
• Chain repairs/soldering (including advanced chain repair, basic chain repair, chain braiding with soldering, jump ring solder and charm soldering).
• Clasp repair (including spring rings, fish hook, box clasp, lobster claw, box clasp and barrel clasp).
• Pearl repair (including knotted restringing, restring without knots, drill pearl and glue pearl).
• Engraving (including simple ring engraving and engraving setup). Engraving on misc items like dog tags, Med ID's, cigar tubes, flat surface items.  We must see the items before engraving to give a quote.
• Earring repair (including soldering post, screw-back and post conversion, lever-back drop conversion and converting bracelet link to earrings.
• Fabrication (including rebuilding bezel, seat and channel sets, gold link rebuilding, gold link addition/removal and bail repair).
• Platinum (basic and advanced platinum welding and ring sizing) We must see item before quoting job pricing. Possibility that we can not work on platinum.
• Miscellaneous (including fabrication, gold testing and diamond testing).
• Watch repair including watch link removal, battery replacement, minor pin repair, and band replacement is done in-store.  Watch Crystal replacement/repair inside on movement will be sent to our watch repair department in Troy Michigan.  Jobs take approximately 3 weeks to send and get back.
